Fold.It

Computer scientist Zoran Popovic helped create a computer game called “Fold.it” that thousands are playing around the world. But it’s not about commercial success.  Popovic created it for biochemist David Baker, who wants to analyze the structure of proteins. It turns out that humans are a lot smarter at this than supercomputers, and the game — well, it’s just an incentive. But it’s surprisingly more fun than it sounds. [Produced for PRI‘s “Studio 360“.]
